1Who provides Canal and what these terms cover

These terms govern your use of the early version of Canal provided by Vediram GmbH. By using Canal, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the software.

Vediram GmbH
Chemin des Bégonias 18
1018 Lausanne, Switzerland

Canal is free. This does not imply an open-source licence or grant rights to third-party components beyond their own licences. These product terms apply to Canal; the website has its own terms of use.

2Experimental software and future plans

Canal is an early version, not a finished product. Features may be incomplete, change, or stop working. Compatibility with contact providers is not guaranteed.

The Canal product page distinguishes current capabilities from planned features. Plans are statements of intent, not commitments to deliver features, release dates, or continued availability. Vediram may change or discontinue development or distribution.

3Your responsibility and backups

You use Canal at your own discretion and risk. You are responsible for deciding whether it is suitable for your needs, keeping your device and accounts secure, and reviewing the changes you authorize.

Canal can create, change, move, and delete contacts in connected address books. Keep independent backups before using it. Recovery records and undo have limits and are not a backup service or a guarantee that a change can be reversed.

Only connect accounts and process contact information you are authorized to use. You are responsible for your processing purposes, permissions, applicable data-protection obligations, and compliance with your providers’ terms.

4No product support or service commitment

Vediram provides no product support for Canal. There is no help-desk entitlement, response-time commitment, service-level agreement, or obligation to supply maintenance, updates, compatibility fixes, or data recovery.

A legal or privacy inquiry does not create a product-support entitlement.

5Warranty and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Canal is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, uninterrupted operation, or freedom from defects.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Vediram excludes liability arising from use of, or inability to use, Canal, including contact loss or corruption, unintended changes, interruption, and consequential loss.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for unlawful intent or gross negligence, or any liability or rights that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited.

6Privacy and connected services

The Canal privacy notice explains the current application’s data handling, local recovery records, and direct connections to your chosen providers. Those providers operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

7Applicable law and legal contact

These terms are governed by Swiss law, subject to any mandatory protections and rights that apply to you. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

For legal questions about Canal, contact contact@vediram.com. For data-protection inquiries, contact privacy@vediram.com. Neither address provides Canal product support.
