Canal · contacts across address booksYour contacts, together. You stay in control.
People do not fit neatly into one address book. Canal is taking shape as a place to bring their details together, keep them useful, and decide what goes where.
Experimental software. No product support is provided by Vediram.
Less sorting. More useful contacts.
These are the directions we plan to explore. They are not available in this early version, and there are no committed delivery dates.
Bring more contact providers into one workspace, starting with Google Contacts and broader CardDAV support.
Capture details from a web page with a browser add-in. Review each proposed addition before saving it.
Find likely duplicates across providers. Compare them side by side and choose which details to keep.
Spot inconsistent phone formats, repeated email addresses, and incomplete records. Approve corrections before they are applied.
Move, copy, or update several contacts with a preview of the changes and recovery where supported.
Preview CSV and vCard imports, map their fields, and check for duplicates. Export contacts when you need to take them elsewhere.
Record an introduction, an event, a form, or a web page, with a date and optional explanation. Keep unknown origins explicit and check what each provider can preserve.
Plans may change or be discontinued. Contact-origin tracking would record context; it would not establish consent or make an address book automatically compliant.
A small, practical beginning.
The early Windows version focuses on sorting contacts between Microsoft 365 and Infomaniak. It connects directly to your providers. Microsoft sign-in requires a configured build.
Search across your lists
Search connected Microsoft 365 and Infomaniak address books from one Windows workspace.
Move between address books
Drag a contact to its destination. Canal checks the new copy before removing the source.
Keep a route back
Protected local recovery records support undo. Recovery has limits and does not replace your own backups.
Free to use. Yours to evaluate.
Canal is free, without product support. You are responsible for your use, the changes you authorize, and your backups.
